이중인화 기법을 사용하여 한국의 갖가지 색과 문화를 담고 있다. 색채를 통해 한국의 문화를 넘어 현대사의 모습까지 표현하려는 시도가 돋보이는 실험영화. (It shows Korea’s traditional colors and culture through the use of superimposing. It is an experimental film, which not only tries to show Korean traditional culture through the use of color, but also tries to show the modern history of Korea.) 연출의도. 나는 이 짧은 영화를 통해 한국의 색을 조명해보고 싶었다. 흔히 한국인은 백의민족이고 한국적 색깔은 흰색이라고 믿고 있는데 대한 작은 의문에서 출발하여 지극히 개인적인 시각으로 여러 가지 색상의 단편적 이미지들을 조합해보고 싶었다. 그래서 나는 오히려 아이들의 울긋불긋한 색동의 옷에서, 그리고 아이들의 천진난만한 움직임과 놀이 속에서 나름대로의 한국적인 색깔을 찾아보려고 하였다. 이것이 30 여 년 전, 아무런 형식에 얽매이지 않고 자유분방하게 색동을 만들어 보고자 한 나의 의도였던 것 같다. (I wanted to explore the colors of Korea through this short movie. Koreans are called, ‘The White Clad Folk,’ and many people believe that white is the most Korean of all colors. But I wanted to question this thought and wanted to combine images with a variety of colors in an intensely personal manner. That’s why I searched for the colors of Korea in the colorful traditional clothes of children in their movement and play. This was my attempt 30 years ago to make a movie about the colors of Korea free from the limitations of form.)
