토요일의 전주국제영화제는 뜨거운 얘매열기로 시작해 시원한 빗줄기와 함께 앞으로의 여정을 기약했다. 4월30일 아침부터 관객을 맞이한 것은 불타는 현장구매 열풍. 관객들은 대부분의 예매분이 동난 30일자 프로그램들의 현장판매분이라도 구해보기 위해 아침일찍부터 티켓 부스에 장사진을 이루었고, 티켓 벼룩시장의 게시판 역시 티켓을 구하려는 관객들의 메모로 빈자리를 찾을 수 없었다.
이처럼 뜨거워진 현장판매율은 토요일을 맞아 전주로 내려온 타지방 관객들의 수가 늘어났기 때문. CGV앞 티켓 부스에서 자원봉사중인 홍성경씨는 “두작품 빼고는 모두 매진이며, 어제와 비교할 수 없을 만큼 많은 사람들이 몰려들었다”고 밝혔다. 한편, 오후 1시30분에 메가박스 앞에서 열린 <마법사(들)>의 감독과 주연배우 팬사인회는 몰려든 팬들로 인산인해를 이루기도 했다.
오후 한때 29도까지 치솟았던 전주의 기온은 오후 4시부터 내리기 시작한 빗줄기와 함께 조금 소강상태를 보였다. 시간이 갈수록 굵어지는 빗줄기에 예정되어 있었던 심야 이벤트의 개최가 불확실한 상태였으나, 오후 8시에 전주시청 앞 노송광장에서 열린 <돌려차기> 야외상영과 8시 30분에 JIFF 페스케이드 메인무대에서 개최된 JIFF 미드나잇 콘서트는 예정대로 강행되었다.
특히 서울로 돌아갔던 홍보대사 김동완이 다시 전주로 발걸음을 돌려 <돌려차기> 야외상영에 모습을 드러내 팬들의 환호를 받았다. 비록 토요일 밤 영화의 거리는 우천으로 꺼진 루미나리에와 줄어든 보행자로 한산한 모습을 보였지만, 재개될 현매 전쟁을 대비해 숙소로 돌아가는 관객들의 열기만은 꺼지지 않고 지속될 전망이다.
Sold Out!
On Saturday, JIFF started with feverish air for enthusiastic advance ticket purchase under cool streaks of rain. From early morning, box offices were crowded with audiences trying to make box office purchase of mostly sold-out tickets on 30th. At about 2 o'clock, all tickets except a few films in "Discovery: Maghreb Cinema" were sold out and a ticket flea market was thronged with audiences waiting cancelled tickets. All of these are because of increasing audiences from another regions on weekend and reduced seating capacity. A volunteer Hong Seong-kyoung said, "All tickets are sold out except two films. Today lots of people stormed into JIFF theater."
Thanks to streaks of rain beginning to fall in the afternoon, temperature rising up to 29 degrees went down a little. To hold night event seemed uncertain because of harder rain but in the evening open screening of Spin Kick and JIFF Midnight Concert on JIFF Fescade main stage were held as prearranged. A JIFF spokesperon Kim Dong-wan on a way to Seoul came back to Jeonju and appeared on open screening of Spin Kick. The Cinema District on Saturday was a little bit quieter with luminarie blown out by rain and reduced passengers but audiences' feverish air for ticket purchase of the following morning could not be dampened.
