영화제의 열기가 주말을 지나면서 최고조에 달하고 있다. 27일 개막 이후 일요일(30일) 오후 2시까지, 240회 상영회 중 72회가 매진됐다. 개막작 <오프사이드>, <마법사들> <혼몽> 등 ‘디지털 삼인삼색 2005’의 장편 버전 등의 화제작을 포함해서, ‘한국단편의 선택’의 모든 섹션이 많은 인기를 끌었고, 지난 29일 진행된 ‘불면의 밤2’는 1700석 규모의 전북대 문화관이 열혈관객으로 가득차기도 했다. 특히 특별 강연이 포함된 ‘영화보다 낯선’의 강세가 눈에 띈다.
영화제 관계자는 “실험영화는 어렵다는 편견이 있지만 강연회를 통해 친절한 설명을 들을 수 있다는 장점 때문에 좋은 반응을 얻고 있다”고 분석했다. 좌석 점유율은 75%로 지난해 91%에 비하면 다소 낮은 수치이지만, 이에 대해 관계자는 전북대문화관 등이 상영관으로 추가되어 좌석수가 현저히 증가했기 때문이라고 설명했다. 한편 올해는 주말 이후 노동절 연휴가 이어져 축제 분위기는 계속될 것으로 보인다.
The film festival is at its peak passing the weekend. 72 out of 240 screenings were sold out completely until the 30th 2 p.m. Hot films like <Offside>, <Magicians>, <Haze>, feature film version of 'Digital Short Films by Three Filmmakers 2005', and all parts from 'Korean Shorts' were so popular, and the Munhwa Hall at the Jeonbuk University was filled with passionate audiences for the 'Midnight Obsession 2' on 29th. Especially the popularity of 'Stranger than Cinema', which included special seminar session, called people's attention.
The festival headquarters analyzed that the popularity is because of the seminar's the kind explanation of the experimental films, which are normally thought to be complex. The seating occupation rate is 75%, which is lower than the last year's 91%, but the reason for it is the increased seating quantity with the additional theaters for the festival. The festival is expecting to continue this hot atmosphere thanks to the extended holidays (Labor Day).
